As Green Lake’s lead gemstone buyer, Brant personally seeks out the finest gemstones for our studio collection. With over 35 years of experience in jewelry retail, wholesale, and manufacturing, Brant brings an innovative eye to the Green Lake custom design process and is always on the search for a new project!
“During my many trips to Montana sourcing rough sapphire to cut into the beautiful collections of gems we have I kept noticing all of these smaller rough sapphire. These were great colors, but a bit too small to make into engagement-size gems. They were really pretty and it was driving me crazy not to be able to figure out a way to use them. On a trip In late 2022, I decided to take a chance and buy a nice little collection of these smaller rough sapphires. I had no idea where this little journey might end up, but started chatting with my cutters on how to make these little beauties come to life.

I threw out a question, Beads?

The cutting experiment started and the result is the amazing collection of unique and one-of-a kind Montana sapphire beaded jewelry items available today at Green Lake.”

As our Bellevue Studio Production Manager, Alesha knows the ins and outs of the custom design process like no other by keeping all the behind-the-scenes fabrication processes running smoothly. A talented artist and designer on many of Green Lake’s most striking stock jewelry pieces, Alesha brought her expertise to this unique bead project:

“I wanted to create pieces that could be worn on their own or would layer well together. Hand-picking each bead creates the right balance of color and scale so each finished piece feels delicate and feminine. Montana sapphires come in every color of the rainbow and no two are alike, allowing each necklace to be truly one-of-a-kind. I was excited to see we were able to source a handful of pinks and oranges to have some warm tone sapphire necklaces in addition to the typical cool tones.”
